NVIDIA GeForce Experience is prone to a local privilege-escalation vulnerability. A local attacker may exploit this issue to gain escalated privileges and perform unauthorized actions. Failed exploit attempts will likely cause denial-of-service conditions. Versions prior to NVIDIA GeForce Experience 3.20.2 are vulnerable.
Permit local access for trusted individuals only. Where possible, use restricted environments and restricted shells.
Ensure that only trusted users have local, interactive access to affected computers.
Run all software as a nonprivileged user with minimal access rights.
To reduce the impact of latent vulnerabilities, always run nonadministrative software as an unprivileged user with minimal access rights.
Implement multiple redundant layers of security.
Memory-protection schemes (such as nonexecutable stack and heap configurations and randomly mapped memory segments) will complicate exploits of memory-corruption vulnerabilities.
