PHP Weak Random Number Seed Vulnerability PHP since version 4.2.0 automatically seeds random number generators on first usage of rand() and mt_rand(), using the GENERATE_SEED() macro. However, issues with the macro can lead to weaker than expected seed and predictable random numbers, impacting PHP 5 <= 5.2.5 and PHP 4 <= 4.4.8
