The version of Adobe Acrobat installed on the remote macOS host is a version prior or equal to 2017.011.30194, 2020.001.30020, or 2021.001.20150. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

  • Acrobat Reader DC versions versions 2020.013.20074 (and earlier), 2020.001.30018 (and earlier) and 2017.011.30188 (and earlier) are affected by an Out-of-bounds Write vulnerability when parsing a crafted jpeg file. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2021-21038, CVE-2021-21044)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application’s self-reported version number.
