Storwize V7000 Unified includes a version of Samba that is affected by a vulnerability that allows a user to take ownership of files and directories that they do not own.

DESCRIPTION:
An error in the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) code in Samba results in a security vulnerability that could be leveraged by a remote attacker to take ownership of files or directories that the user does not own. Storwize V7000 Unified included a version of Samba and may be susceptible to an attack that takes advantage of this vulnerability.

Vendor Fix(es): The issue is fixed in Storwize V7000 Unified V1.3.2. Customers running an earlier version of Storwize V7000 Unified must upgrade to V1.3.2 or later.
