SONAS includes a version of Samba that is affected by a vulnerability that allows a user to take ownership of files and directories that they do not own.

DESCRIPTION:

An error in the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) code in Samba results in a security vulnerability that could be leveraged by a remote attacker to take ownership of files or directories he does not own. SONAS included a vulnerable version of Samba and may be susceptible to an attack that takes advantage of this vulnerability.

Vendor Fix(es): The issue is fixed in SONAS 1.3.2. SONAS customer running an earlier SONAS version (e.g. SONAS 1.2, SONAS 1.3, SONAS 1.3.1) must upgrade to SONAS 1.3.2 or a later version
