IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:
3.1. Stop the server: Navigate to the Server directory in your Ratonal product installation path and run this script: server.shutdown
3.2. Navigate to the server directory in your Rational product installation path, open server.startup_ _script using prefered text editor (e.g., Notepad for Windows or Vim Editor for Linux) and add one more option to the healthcenter parameter set:
Search parameter -Dcom.ibm.java.diagnostics.healthcenter.agent in server.startup script to find the line containing the health center parameter.
NOTE: For some Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management versions,_ -Dcom.ibm.java.diagnostics.healthcenter.agent_ parameter may not be found in the server.startup, in this case the update is not needed and you can start using your server. **
Windows:**
Modify the line (where HEALTHCENTER_OPTS parameter located) by adding a new healthcenter option: _
-Dsun.rmi.registry.registryFilter=javax.rmi.CORBA.Stub_
Before modification:_
set HEALTHCENTER_OPTS=-agentlib:healthcenter -Dcom.ibm.java.diagnostics.healthcenter.agent.port=1972
After modification:
set HEALTHCENTER_OPTS=-agentlib:healthcenter -Dcom.ibm.java.diagnostics.healthcenter.agent.port=1972 -Dsun.rmi.registry.registryFilter=javax.rmi.CORBA.Stub_
**
Linux:**
Modify the line (where HEALTHCENTER_OPTS parameter located) by adding a new healthcenter option: -Dsun.rmi.registry.registryFilter=javax.rmi.CORBA.Stub
Before modification:_
export HEALTHCENTER_OPTS=“-agentlib:healthcenter -Dcom.ibm.java.diagnostics.healthcenter.agent.port=1972”
After modification:
export HEALTHCENTER_OPTS=“-agentlib:healthcenter -Dcom.ibm.java.diagnostics.healthcenter.agent.port=1972 -Dsun.rmi.registry.registryFilter=javax.rmi.CORBA.Stub”_
3.3. Start the server. Navigate to the Server directory in your Rational product installation path and run this script: _server.startup. _
STEPS TO APPLY THE REMEDIATION:
_ _
1. Upgrade your products to a supported version:4.0.7,5.0.2,6.0.2, or 6.0.3
2. Apply the latest ifix for your installed version.
3. Obtain the April 2017 CPU update for the IBM_®_ Java SDK.
Based on version installed, obtain the latest ifixes (recommended), and the below indicated java from:
For the 6.0.3 releases: JRE 7.1.4.5**(<product>-JavaSE-JRE-7.1SR4FP5**)
For the 6.0.2 releases: JRE 7.1.4.5**(<product>-JavaSE-JRE-7.1SR4FP5**)
Rational Software Architect Design Manager:_ _Upgrade to version 6.0.2 and install server and JRE from CLM 6.0.2
Rational Rhapsody Design Manager:_ _Upgrade to version 6.0.2 and install server and JRE from CLM 6.0.2
Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager:_ _Upgrade to version 6.0.2 and install server and JRE from CLM 6.0.2
For the 5.x releases: JRE 6.0.16.45**(<product>-JavaSE-JRE-6.0SR16FP45**)
Rational Software Architect Design Manager:_ _Upgrade to version 5.0.2 and install server and JRE from CLM 5.0.2
Rational Rhapsody Design Manager:_ _Upgrade to version 5.0.2 and install server and JRE from CLM 5.0.2
Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager:_ Upgrade to version 5.0.2 and install server and JRE from CLM 5.0.2
_
For the 4.x releases: JRE 6.0.16.45**(<product>-JavaSE-JRE-6.0SR16FP45**)
Rational Software Architect Design Manager: _ _Upgrade to version 4.0.7 and install server and JRE from CLM 4.0.7
Rational Rhapsody Design Manager: Upgrade to version 4.0.7 and install server and JRE from CLM 4.0.7
Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager: Upgrade to version 4.0.7 and install server and JRE from CLM 4.0.7
4. Upgrade your JRE following the instructions in the link below:
How to update the IBM SDK for Java of IBM Rational products based on version 3.0.1.6 or later of IBM’s Jazz technology
5. Navigate to the server directory in your Rational product installation path, and go to jre/lib/security path.
6. Open java.security_ _ file using prefered text editor (e.g., Notepad for Windows or Vim Editor for Linux) and remove MD5 option from the jdk.jar.disabledAlgorithms parameter set:
Before modification:
jdk.jar.disabledAlgorithms=MD2, MD5, RSA keySize < 1024
After modification:
jdk.jar.disabledAlgorithms=MD2, RSA keySize < 1024
