Summary

Public disclosed vulnerability from OpenSSL in the Fabric OS used by IBM b-type SAN directors and switches.

Vulnerability Details

CVEID:CVE-2020-1968
**DESCRIPTION:**OpenSSL could allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information, caused by a Raccoon attack in the TLS specification. By computing the pre-master secret in connections which have used a Diffie-Hellman (DH) based ciphersuite, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to eavesdrop on all encrypted communications sent over that TLS connection.
CVSS Base score: 3.7
CVSS Temporal Score: See: https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/187977 for the current score.
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N)

Affected Products and Versions

Affected Product(s) Version(s)
FOS 8.x

Remediation/Fixes

Product VRMF Fix
FOS 9.x
<https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6371270>

Customers running FOS 8.X can upgrade to FOS 9.X or customers can implement the following work around.

Workarounds and Mitigations

Only FOS 8.X code stream is vulnerable.

FOS 7.X and 9.X are not vulnerable.

Customers running FOS 8.X can upgrade to FOS 9.X or customers can implement the following work around.

Customers can find more information in Brocade® Fabric OS® Administration Guide by researching seccryptocfg command.

Two sections in the guide provide information:

 • Configuring the Ciphers, KEX, and MAC Algorithms

 • SecCryptoCfg Template Management

seccryptocfg --replace command can be used to update ciphers for SSH and HTTPS.

template can be used to update ciphers for RADIUS, LDAP and SYSLOG.

! is used to exclude any ciphers from the cipherlist. ex: !DH

Note: Customers can also open a case with TAC. In some FOS Version, DH is already removed. Customer can also check if this is the case with their version.

 1. Customer ran secCryptoCfg –-show
 2. Open a case with TAC for further assistance if required
