CryptoLocker

What is CryptoLocker

A malicious ransomware program that encrypts files on the infected computer, demanding ransom payments in exchange for decryption keys. Once an individual receives a ransom demand, they have to pay a fee in order to restore their data. The extortions are reported being as much as $300-500 per file. Victims are then given instructions on how to find the decryption key online, and if they do not comply with these requests, the files remain encrypted and inaccessible.
