This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the processing of of VXDZ files while in simulation mode. When parsing name:value pairs in configuation data, the process does not properly validate a user-supplied string before executing it as code. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user.
