This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the modTMCSS Proxy functionality. When parsing the “t” parameter, the process does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code under the context of the imss user.
