(Pwn2Own) Apple OS X SubmitDiagInfo Arbitrary Directory Creation Privilege Escalation Vulnerability

This vulnerability allows local attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Apple OS X. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the com.apple.SubmitDiagInfo service. The issue lies in the failure to validate a user-supplied path prior to creating a directory. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute code as root.
