This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Microsoft Internet Explorer. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the usage of ISettingsBroker. By using a specified CLSID to the setValue method, an attacker can modify privileged registry values. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code under the context of the user at Medium integrity.
