This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Microsoft Windows. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the Microsoft Common Controls when handling RTF files. A specially crafted length can result in an integer overflow in a value that gets used as a length in a call to SysAllocStringLen. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code under the context of the current process.
