Sascha gurkor released a new video on our website about his BETTELBOT project.
"BETTELBOT" is a street music automat, built out of a trash-computer.
The main-board is replaced with a self designed board based on the ATMEGA8 microcontroller. The mechanics of the
disk drivers (a 3,5" and a 5,25" floppy-drives and a hard-drive) are used as musical instruments. The record reading heads
move back and forth creating sounds that are captured with piezo pickups and intensified by an amplifier through speakers.
The BETTELBOT plays the melody "We are the robots" by the band Kraftwerk, a classic of the early
electronic music.
After each play it asks for change with its CD-ROM tray.
