OpenSSL is vulnerable to denial of service (DoS) attacks. These attacks are possible because the PKCS#7 implementation doesn’t correctly handle a lack of outer ContentInfo. This flaw allows attackers to cause null pointer dereferences and applications crashes through malformed data with ASN.1 encoding.
