Linux kernel is vulnerable to NULL pointer dereference attacks. This is due to mishandling of node-splitting in assoc_array implementation in assoc_array_insert_into_terminal_node function in lib/assoc_array.c. A local users could cause a denial of service via a crafted application, as demonstrated by the keyring key type, and key addition and link creation operation.
