OpenSSL is vulnerable to denial of service (DoS) attacks and possibly other attacks through memory corruption or application crash. These attacks are possible due to a use-after-free vulnerability in the d2i_ECPrivateKey function. The attacks are triggered though a malformed Elliptic Curve private-key file.
