Spam Volume Is Way Down…But Why?

The volume of spam e-mail is down by 40% since early October due to decreased activity from the Rustock and Pushdo botnets. This is possibly connected to the closure of spamit.com, an affiliate program under scrutiny. The drop in spam volume may not be permanent as spammers could be laying low until the situation resolves
