Permit local access for trusted individuals only. Where possible, use restricted environments and restricted shells.
Do not permit untrusted individuals to have local access to computers. This may limit exposure to exploitation of latent local vulnerabilities.

Microsoft has released updates to address this vulnerability in supported versions of the Windows operating system.
