The Dutch Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD) disclosed an intercepted cyberattack on the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPWC) in the Netherlands by Sofacy, an advanced threat actor. Despite the presence of advanced persistent threat (APT) groups in the country, activity remains relatively low compared to other regions, prompting a review of cyber-threat activity targeting the Netherlands. Using sinkhole data, researchers gathered information on Dutch IPs from the last four years to analyze APT campaign patterns and potential victims, resulting in the filtering of results to distinguish true and false positives
