A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s Mediatek network driver. Previously, if alloc_netdev_dummy() failed in mtk_probe(), the error handling code might attempt to free a NULL dummy_dev, leading to a crash.

Mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
