Developers frequently build custom authentication and session \nmanagement schemes, but building these correctly is hard. As a result, \nthese custom schemes frequently have flaws in areas such as logout, \npassword management, timeouts, remember me, secret question, account \nupdate, etc. \n \nTechnical Details \n================ \n*Authentication Bypass:* \n \nTry Accessing the URL which the normal user have no longer access without \ncredentials with auth token value as* \u201cok\u201d *and HTTP Basic Authentication \nheader with password value \n \n*Improper Session Management:* \n \nCreate a fake Session ID and submit the request to the server with the \ncredentials. Whereas, you can see that the session id has no change even \nafter getting logged in and during logout process. \n \nFor more, also refer - \nhttps://github.com/cybersecurityworks/Disclosed/issues/14 \n \nFix \n================ \nRegenerate the session-id of the end user during login and logout process. \nInvalidate all the initialized session variables during logout process. \nCheck for unauthenticated access to all the pages inside login. \nRemove Basic HTTP Authentication and Implement any other authentication \ntechnique. \n \nAdvisory Timeline \n================ \n \n28/10/2015 - Discovered in Netgear Router JNR1010 Firmware Version 1.0.0.24 \n28/10//2015 - Reported to vendor through support option but, no response \n30/10//2015 - Reported to vendor through another support option available \nhere <http://support.netgear.com/for_home/default.aspx>.
