Microsoft Windows Media Remote Code Execution Vulnerability (2648048) is a critical security issue due to an error in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center when parsing Microsoft Digital Video Recording files (DVR-MS). Successful exploitation could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running the application. Affected versions include Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and prior, Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 and prior, and Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and prior.
