Debian: Security Advisory (DSA-2884-1)

The remote host is missing an update for the Debian 'libyaml' package(s) announced via the DSA-2884-1 advisory. Ivan Fratric of the Google Security Team discovered a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in LibYAML, a fast YAML 1.1 parser and emitter library. A remote attacker could provide a specially-crafted YAML document that, when parsed by an application using libyaml, would cause the application to crash or, potentially, execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running the application. For Debian 6 and 7, the vulnerable libyaml package versions are 0.1.3-1+deb6u4 and 0.1.4-2+deb7u4 respectively. It is recommended to install the updated package(s) to address this security issue
