Audit rules are configured using the auditctl program. When getting started, auditctl reads these

/etc/audit/auditd.conf file. The other two components are audispd and autrace. audispd is used to
send event notifications to other applications, while autrace is used to trace system calls in a
way similar to strace. Some files in the system are important and cannot be modified. It is
necessary to use auditd to audit such files.
