"The remote Ubuntu 22.04 LTS host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in
the USN-5914-1 advisory.
- A vulnerability has been found in Linux Kernel and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects
the function inet6_stream_ops/inet6_dgram_ops of the component IPv6 Handler. The manipulation leads to
race condition. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue. VDB-211090 is the identifier
assigned to this vulnerability. (CVE-2022-3567)
- There are use-after-free vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel's net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c's l2cap_connect
and l2cap_le_connect_req functions which may allow code execution and leaking kernel memory (respectively)
remotely via Bluetooth. A remote attacker could execute code leaking kernel memory via Bluetooth if within
proximity of the victim. We recommend upgrading past commit https://www.google.com/url
https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/711f8c3fb3db61897080468586b970c87c61d9e4
https://www.google.com/url (CVE-2022-42896)
- A use-after-free vulnerability was found in __nfs42_ssc_open() in fs/nfs/nfs4file.c in the Linux kernel.
This flaw allows an attacker to conduct a remote denial (CVE-2022-4379)
- The Linux kernel NFSD implementation prior to versions 5.19.17 and 6.0.2 are vulnerable to buffer
overflow. NFSD tracks the number of pages held by each NFSD thread by combining the receive and send
buffers of a remote procedure call (RPC) into a single array of pages. A client can force the send buffer
to shrink by sending an RPC message over TCP with garbage data added at the end of the message. The RPC
message with garbage data is still correctly formed according to the specification and is passed forward
to handlers. Vulnerable code in NFSD is not expecting the oversized request and writes beyond the
allocated buffer space. CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H (CVE-2022-43945)
- An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 6.0.10. l2cap_config_req in net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c
has an integer wraparound via L2CAP_CONF_REQ packets. (CVE-2022-45934)
- An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 6.0.11. Missing offset validation in
drivers/net/wireless/microchip/wilc1000/hif.c in the WILC1000 wireless driver can trigger an out-of-bounds
read when parsing a Robust Security Network (RSN) information element from a Netlink packet.
(CVE-2022-47520)
- The current implementation of the prctl syscall does not issue an IBPB immediately during the syscall. The
ib_prctl_set function updates the Thread Information Flags (TIFs) for the task and updates the SPEC_CTRL
MSR on the function __speculation_ctrl_update, but the IBPB is only issued on the next schedule, when the
TIF bits are checked. This leaves the victim vulnerable to values already injected on the BTB, prior to
the prctl syscall. The patch that added the support for the conditional mitigation via prctl
(ib_prctl_set) dates back to the kernel 4.9.176. We recommend upgrading past commit
a664ec9158eeddd75121d39c9a0758016097fa96 (CVE-2023-0045)
- There is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux Kernel which can be exploited to achieve local
privilege escalation. To reach the vulnerability kernel configuration flag CONFIG_TLS or
CONFIG_XFRM_ESPINTCP has to be configured, but the operation does not require any privilege. There is a
use-after-free bug of icsk_ulp_data of a struct inet_connection_sock. When CONFIG_TLS is enabled, user can
install a tls context (struct tls_context) on a connected tcp socket. The context is not cleared if this
socket is disconnected and reused as a listener. If a new socket is created from the listener, the context
is inherited and vulnerable. The setsockopt TCP_ULP operation does not require any privilege. We recommend
upgrading past commit 2c02d41d71f90a5168391b6a5f2954112ba2307c (CVE-2023-0461)
- A use-after-free flaw was found in io_uring/filetable.c in io_install_fixed_file in the io_uring
subcomponent in the Linux Kernel during call cleanup. This flaw may lead to a denial of service.
(CVE-2023-0469)
