"The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 4 host is prior to tested version. It is,
therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TSSA-2024:0907 advisory.
Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 4 that fix the following vulnerabilities:
CVE-2023-49568:
Grafana is an open-source platform for monitoring and observability. In Grafana Enterprise, Request
security is a deny list that allows admins to configure Grafana in a way so that the instance doesnt
call specific hosts. However, the restriction can be bypassed used punycode encoding of the characters in
the request address.
CVE-2023-6152:
OpenTelemetry-Go Contrib is a collection of third-party packages for OpenTelemetry-Go. Prior to version
0.46.0, the grpc Unary Server Interceptor out of the box adds labels `net.peer.sock.addr` and
`net.peer.sock.port` that have unbound cardinality. It leads to the server's potential memory exhaustion
when many malicious requests are sent. An attacker can easily flood the peer address and port for
requests. Version 0.46.0 contains a fix for this issue. As a workaround to stop being affected, a view
removing the attributes can be used. The other possibility is to disable grpc metrics instrumentation by
passing `otelgrpc.WithMeterProvider` option with `noop.NewMeterProvider`.
CVE-2023-47108:
A path traversal vulnerability was discovered in go-git versions prior to v5.11. This vulnerability allows
an attacker to create and amend files across the filesystem. In the worse case scenario, remote code
execution could be achieved. Applications are only affected if they are using the ChrootOS
https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/go-git/go-billy/v5/osfs#ChrootOS , which is the default when using Plain
versions of Open and Clone funcs (e.g. PlainClone). Applications using BoundOS
https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/go-git/go-billy/v5/osfs#BoundOS or in-memory filesystems are not affected
by this issue. This is a go-git implementation issue and does not affect the upstream git cli.
CVE-2024-1442:
A user with the permissions to create a data source can use Grafana API to create a data source with UID
set to *. Doing this will grant the user access to read, query, edit and delete all data sources within
the organization.
CVE-2023-4399:
A denial of service (DoS) vulnerability was discovered in go-git versions prior to v5.11. This
vulnerability allows an attacker to perform denial of service attacks by providing specially crafted
responses from a Git server which triggers resource exhaustion in go-git clients. Applications using only
the in-memory filesystem supported by go-git are not affected by this vulnerability. This is a go-git
implementation issue and does not affect the upstream git cli.
CVE-2024-1313:
It is possible for a user in a different organization from the owner of a snapshot to bypass authorization
and delete a snapshot by issuing a DELETE request to /api/snapshots/<key> using its view key. This
functionality is intended to only be available to individuals with the permission to write/edit to the
snapshot in question, but due to a bug in the authorization logic, deletion requests issued by an
unprivileged user in a different organization than the snapshot owner are treated as authorized. Grafana
Labs would like to thank Ravid Mazon and Jay Chen of Palo Alto Research for discovering and disclosing
this vulnerability. This issue affects Grafana: from 9.5.0 before 9.5.18, from 10.0.0 before 10.0.13, from
10.1.0 before 10.1.9, from 10.2.0 before 10.2.6, from 10.3.0 before 10.3.5.
CVE-2023-49569:
A user changing their email after signing up and verifying it can change it without verification in
profile settings. The configuration option verify_email_enabled will only validate email only on sign
up.
CVE-2023-25151:
opentelemetry-go-contrib is a collection of extensions for OpenTelemetry-Go. The v0.38.0 release of
`go.opentelemetry.io/contrib/instrumentation/net/http/otelhttp` uses the `httpconv.ServerRequest` function
to annotate metric measurements for the `http.server.request_content_length`,
`http.server.response_content_length`, and `http.server.duration` instruments. The `ServerRequest`
function sets the `http.target` attribute value to be the whole request URI (including the query
string)[^1]. The metric instruments do not forget previous measurement attributes when `cumulative`
temporality is used, this means the cardinality of the measurements allocated is directly correlated with
the unique URIs handled. If the query string is constantly random, this will result in a constant increase
in memory allocation that can be used in a denial-of-service attack. This issue has been addressed in
version 0.39.0. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
CVE-2023-45142:
OpenTelemetry-Go Contrib is a collection of third-party packages for OpenTelemetry-Go. A handler wrapper
out of the box adds labels `http.user_agent` and `http.method` that have unbound cardinality. It leads to
the server's potential memory exhaustion when many malicious requests are sent to it. HTTP header User-
Agent or HTTP method for requests can be easily set by an attacker to be random and long. The library
internally uses `httpconv.ServerRequest` that records every value for HTTP `method` and `User-Agent`. In
order to be affected, a program has to use the `otelhttp.NewHandler` wrapper and not filter any unknown
HTTP methods or User agents on the level of CDN, LB, previous middleware, etc. Version 0.44.0 fixed this
issue when the values collected for attribute `http.request.method` were changed to be restricted to a set
of well-known values and other high cardinality attributes were removed. As a workaround to stop being
affected, `otelhttp.WithFilter()` can be used, but it requires manual careful configuration to not log
certain requests entirely. For convenience and safe usage of this library, it should by default mark with
the label `unknown` non-standard HTTP methods and User agents to show that such requests were made but do
not increase cardinality. In case someone wants to stay with the current behavior, library API should
allow to enable it.
