"The remote MiracleLinux 4 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the
AXSA:2013-473:03 advisory.
KVM (for Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is a full virtualization solution for Linux on x86 hardware.
Using KVM, one can run multiple virtual machines running unmodified Linux or Windows images. Each virtual
machine has private virtualized hardware: a network card, disk, graphics adapter, etc.
Security issues fixed with this release:
CVE-2013-2007
The qemu guest agent in Qemu 1.4.1 and earlier, as used by Xen, when started in daemon mode, uses weak
permissions for certain files, which allows local users to read and write to these files.
Fixed bugs:
Previously, when using the virtio balloon driver with more than 4 GB of memory, qemu-kvm reported
incorrect memory size on QMP events. The culprit integer overflow has been fixed in the code calculations
and qemu-kvm works as expected.
Previously, when changing the status of a network card to off to change the status of the respective
guest to down, the network card status was sometimes unexpectedly set to up on the guest restart, even
if the network was unavailable. This has been fixed.Users will have to stop and restart all the virtual
machines for the update to take effect.
Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the MiracleLinux security advisory.
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version
number.");
