"The remote MiracleLinux 3 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the
AXSA:2013-316:03 advisory.
The kernel package contains the Linux kernel (vmlinuz), the core of any Linux operating system. The kernel
handles the basic functions of the operating system: memory allocation, process allocation, device input
and output, etc.
Security issues fixed with this release:
CVE-2012-3400
Heap-based buffer overflow in the udf_load_logicalvol function in fs/udf/super.c in the Linux kernel
before 3.4.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly have
unspecified other impact via a crafted UDF filesystem.
Fixed bugs:
Fixed the race conditions responsible for the Emulex BladeEngine 2 (BE2) controllers becoming
unresponsive.
Enlarged the DMI heap (a boot-time memory allocation pool) from 2048 to 4096 bytes for AMD64 and Intel 64
architectures to prevent soem kernel panics.
Increased the size of the buffer used to print the kernel taint.
Fixed a typo in the code to print the kernel taint.
Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the MiracleLinux security advisory.
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version
number.");
