"The remote MiracleLinux 4 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the
AXSA:2012-915:08 advisory.
The kernel package contains the Linux kernel (vmlinuz), the core of any Linux operating system. The kernel
handles the basic functions of the operating system: memory allocation, process allocation, device input
and output, etc.
Security issues fixed with this release:
CVE-2011-1078
The sco_sock_getsockopt_old function in net/bluetooth/sco.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.39 does not
initialize a certain structure, which allows local users to obtain potentially sensitive information from
kernel stack memory via the SCO_CONNINFO option.
CVE-2012-2383
Integer overflow in the i915_gem_execbuffer2 function in drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_gem_execbuffer.c in the
Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) subsystem in the Linux kernel before 3.3.5 on 32-bit platforms allows local
users to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds write) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a
crafted ioctl call.
Fixed bugs:
Fixed some problems related to the leap second hrtimer.
[fs] proc: stats: Use arch_idle_time for idle and iowait times if available
[usb] core: change the memory limits in usbfs URB submission
[usb] core: unify some error pathways in usbfs
[netdrv] ixgbe: BIT_APP_UPCHG not set by ixgbe_copy_dcb_cfg()
[netdrv] ixgbe: driver fix for link flap
[netdrv] be2net: enable GRO by default
[net] bridge: Fix enforcement of multicast hash_max limit
[net] 8021q/vlan: filter device events on bonds
[wireless] ipw2200: remove references to CFG80211_WEXT config option
[virt] kvm/vmx: Fix KVM_SET_SREGS with big real mode segments
[fs] writeback: merge for_kupdate and !for_kupdate cases
[fs] writeback: fix queue_io() ordering
[fs] writeback: don't redirty tail an inode with dirty pages
[fs] ext4: properly dirty split extent nodes
Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the MiracleLinux security advisory.
