"The remote MiracleLinux 3 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the
AXSA:2008-485:02 advisory.
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a protocol used for network management.
The NET-SNMP project includes various SNMP tools: an extensible agent, an SNMP library, tools for
requesting or setting information from SNMP agents, tools for generating and handling SNMP traps, a
version of the netstat command which uses SNMP, and a Tk/Perl mib browser. This package contains the snmpd
and snmptrapd daemons, documentation, etc.
Fixed bug:
CVE-2008-4309
The getbulk code in net-snmp 5.4 before 5.4.2.1, 5.3 before 5.3.2.3, and 5.2 before 5.2.5.1 allows remote
attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via vectors related to the number of responses or repeats.
Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the MiracleLinux security advisory.
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version
number.");
