According to its self-reported version, IOS is affected by a vulnerability in the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) subsystem due to insufficient input validation when the software processes specific SNMP object identifiers. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by sending a crafted SNMP packet to an affected device, in order to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition.
