Description of the security update for SharePoint Server 2019: June 11, 2024 (KB5002602)

Summary

This security update resolves a Microsoft SharePoint Server remote code execution vulnerability. To learn more about the vulnerability, see Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures CVE-2024-30100.

Notes:

  • This is build 16.0.10411.20004 of the security update package.
  • To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019 installed on the computer.

Improvements and fixes

This security update contains a fix for the following nonsecurity issue in SharePoint Server 2019:

  • Fixes an issue in which a new server doesn’t have the right configuration when it joins an existing farm if the Antimalware Scanning Interface (AMSI) feature is enabled.
    This security update also contains fixes in Project Server:
  • Fixes an issue in which access is denied on the administrative Project Detail Pages when the Project Web App site has been created at the root of the site collection.
  • Fixes an issue in which the TaskLinks REST endpoint and the client-side object model (CSOM) Tasks collection don’t return the PredecessorTaskId or SuccessorTaskId properties.
