Description of the security update for Office 2010: November 12, 2019

Summary

This security update resolves an information disclosure vulnerability that exists in Microsoft Access software if the software does not handle objects in memory correctly. To learn more about the vulnerability, see Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures CVE-2019-1402.

Note To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Service Pack 2 for Office 2010 installed on the computer.Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2010. It doesn’t apply to the Office 2010 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home (see What version of Office am I using?).

Known issues in this security update

• After you install this update, you may receive the following error message when you try to run an Update query in Access:

Query “query name” is corrupt.

To fix this issue, install update 4484193. For more information about this error, see Access error: “Query is corrupt.”
