Windows NetBIOS Denial of Service Vulnerability

A denial of service vulnerability exists when Microsoft Windows improperly handles NetBIOS packets. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could cause a target computer to become completely unresponsive.

A remote unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a series of TCP packets to a target system, resulting in a permanent denial of service condition.

The update addresses the vulnerability by correcting how the Windows network stack handles NetBIOS traffic.
