APT37 used VBA self-decode technique to inject RokRat into a malicious document uploaded to Virus Total targeting the South Korean government almost a year ago. This technique involves unpacking the malicious macro and executing it dynamically, bypassing several security mechanisms, including modifying the registry to bypass VB object model. This method is a first for APT37
