Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute remote COM objects with elevated privileges.
All versions of FactoryTalk Services Platform are affected.
The affected productβs redundancy host service (RdcyHost.exe) does not validate supplied identifiers, which could allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to execute remote COM objects with elevated privileges.
CVE-2020-12033 has been assigned to this vulnerability. A CVSS v3 base score of 7.5 has been assigned; the CVSS vector string is (AV:A/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H).
Affected users are encouraged to use Rockwell Automation Knowledgebase article 25612 to determine if FactoryTalk Services Platform is installed.
