libxml2 is not used directly by IBM App Connect Enterprise Certified Container but is present in the images as part of the base operating system packages. IBM App Connect Enterprise Certified Container may be vulnerable to denial of service. This bulletin provides patch information to address the reported vulnerability CVE-2017-18258 in libxml2.

**DESCRIPTION:**libxml2 is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a flaw in the xz_head function in xzlib.c. By persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted file, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial of service condition.
