Summary

libexpat is not used directly by IBM App Connect Enterprise Certified Container but is present in the operand images as part of the base operating system. Use of libexpat within IBM App Connect Enterprise Certified Container operands may be vulnerable to arbitrary code execution. This bulletin provides patch information to address the reported vulnerability CVE-2022-25314 in libexpat.

**DESCRIPTION:**libexpat could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by an integer overflow in the copyString function. By sending an overly-long argument, an attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.
