Summary

IBM Spectrum Conductor with ISC BIND is vulnerable to a denial of service

Vulnerability Details

CVEID:CVE-2022-3488
**DESCRIPTION:**ISC BIND is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an error related to the processing of repeated responses to the same query, where both responses contain ECS pseudo-options, but where the first is broken in some way. By sending two responses in quick succession, each with a “CLIENT-SUBNET” pseudo-option and where the first is broken, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause named to terminate.
CVSS Base score: 7.5
CVSS Temporal Score: See: https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/245520 for the current score.

CVEID:CVE-2023-2828
**DESCRIPTION:**ISC BIND is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a flaw that allows the named’s configured cache size limit to be significantly exceeded. By querying the resolver for specific RRsets in a certain order, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to exhaust all memory on the host.
CVSS Base score: 7.5
CVSS Temporal Score: See: https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/258607 for the current score.

CVEID:CVE-2023-2829
**DESCRIPTION:**ISC BIND is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an error when synth-from-dnssec is enabled. By using a zone with a malformed NSEC record, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause named to terminate.
CVSS Base score: 7.5
CVSS Temporal Score: See: https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/258648 for the current score.
