Vulnerability Details

CVE-ID:CVE-2014-0224

**DESCRIPTION:**OpenSSL is vulnerable to a man-in-the-middle attack, caused by the use of weak keying material in SSL/TLS clients and servers. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using a specially-crafted handshake to conduct man-in-the-middle attacks to decrypt and modify traffic.

CVSS Base Score: 5.8
CVSS Temporal Score: See <https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/93586> for the current score

Affected Products and Versions

  • Tivoli Storage Productivity Center 5.2.x
  • Tivoli Storage Productivity Center 5.1.x
  • Tivoli Storage Productivity Center 4.x

The versions listed above apply to all licensed offerings of Tivoli Storage Productivity Center, including IBM SmartCloud Virtual Storage Center Storage Analytics Engine.

System Storage Productivity Center is affected if it has one of the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center versions listed above.

The following are not affected and do not require an update:

  • Tivoli Storage Productivity Center for Replication - all versions

Remediation/Fixes

The recommended solution is to apply the interim fix, fix pack or refresh pack for each named product as soon as practicable. Links to Fix Central are provided below:

For 5.2.0 through 5.2.2:

  • Apply interim fix IT02529
    --OR–
  • Apply refresh pack 5.2.3 or later (targeted to be available end of August 2014)

For 5.1.0 through 5.1.1.4:

  • Apply interim fix IT02529
    --OR–
  • Apply fix pack 5.1.1.5 or later (targeted to be available end of July 2014)

For 4.1.0 through 4.2.2 FP6:

  • Apply interim fix IT02536
    --OR–
  • Apply fix pack 4.2.2 FP7 or later (targeted to be available end July 2014)
