Security vulnerabilities have been reported for Node.js. IBM Business Automation Workflow and IBM BPM include a stand-alone tool for editing configuration properties files that is based on IBM SDK for Node.js.

**DESCRIPTION:**Node.js is vulnerable to HTTP request smuggling, caused by CR-to-Hyphen conversion. By sending specially crafted HTTP request headers, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to poison the web cache, bypass web application firewall protection, and conduct XSS attacks.

The recommended solution is to apply the Interim Fix (iFix) or Cumulative Fix (CF) containing APAR JR62874 as soon as practical:

· Upgrade to minimal cumulative fix levels as required by iFix and then apply iFix JR62874

Workarounds and Mitigations

IBM BPM Configuration Editor is a stand-alone tool for editing properties file. Use a standard text file editor instead.
