Vulnerability Details

CVEID:CVE-2015-0235

**DESCRIPTION:**The gethostbyname functions of the GNU C Library (glibc) are vulnerable to a buffer overflow. By sending a specially crafted, but valid hostname argument, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of the targeted process or cause the process to crash. This issue is being referred to as the β€œGhost” vulnerability.

Remediation/Fixes

Fix is available in versions 6.0.0.12, 6.0.1.8, 7.0.0.5, 7.1.0.3. Refer to APAR IT06941 for URLs to download the fix. Customers using DataPower firmware version 5.0.x, contact customer support.
