Abstract

IBM Sterling Connect:Direct Browser is vulnerable to two information disclosure attacks.

Content

VULNERABILITY DETAILS:

CVE ID: CVE-2013-0527

DESCRIPTION:
IBM Sterling Connect:Direct Browser is vulnerable to unauthorized information disclosure as a result of C:D Browser pages being left open subsequent to idle session time-out. This could potentially expose sensitive data within the administrative console if the browser is visible and left unattended. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker would need access to an unlocked desktop of the administrative user.

CVSS Base Score: 1.9
CVSS Temporal Score: See https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/82609 for the current score
CVSS Environmental Score*: Undefined
CVSS Vector: (AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N)

AFFECTED VERSIONS:
IBM Sterling Connect:Direct Browser User Interface 1.4 through 1.4.0.10
IBM Sterling Connect:Direct Browser User Interface 1.5 through 1.5.0.1

REMEDIATION:

The recommended solution is to upgrade to the current release as soon as practical. Please see below for information about the fixes available.

Mitigation(s):
It is the ultimate responsibility of the end-user to logout of the application in order to prevent sensitive application screens from being left unattended.

VULNERABILITY DETAILS:

CVE ID: CVE-2013-0529

DESCRIPTION:
IBM Sterling Connect:Direct Browser does not set the secure attribute when it creates a session cookie. The secure attribute is used to ensure that cookies (with the attribute set) can only be sent over an encrypted channel to reduce the likelihood of eavesdropping attacks.
