Summary

IBM Watson Speech Services Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data is vulnerable to SQL injection in PostgreSQL JDBC Driver, through the use of the non-default connection property preferQueryMode=simple in combination with application code that has a vulnerable SQL [CVE-2024-1597]. Postgres is a database that is used by our Speech microservices. This vulnerabilitiy has been addressed. Please read the details for remediation below.

**DESCRIPTION:**PostgreSQL JDBC Driver (PgJDBC) is vulnerable to SQL injection. A remote attacker could send specially crafted SQL statements when using the non-default connection property preferQueryMode=simple in combination with application code that has a vulnerable SQL that negates a parameter value, which could allow the attacker to view, add, modify or delete information in the back-end database.
