Workarounds and Mitigations

CVE-2016-2183 can be mitigated by disabling DES/3DES Cipher codes using the hidden connection option “CipherList”. This controls which cipher suites can be used by the driver. For information on the format of CipherList, refer to <https://www.openssl.org/docs/man1.0.2/man1/ciphers.html&gt;

To disable the DES/3DES cipher codes, in the .odbc.ini file, specify the following value for the undocumented CipherList connection option:
CipherList=DEFAULT:-DES:-3DES

If you have already specified a value for CipherList, add the following to the existing value:
DEFAULT:-DES:-3DES
