Summary

IBM Watson Speech Services Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow in rsyslog, caused by improper bounds checking by the TCP syslog server (receiver) components [ CVE-2022-24903]. Rsyslog is used as a component of our Speech runtimes. This vulnerabilitiy has been addressed. Please read the details for remediation below.

**DESCRIPTION:**rsyslog is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the TCP syslog server (receiver) components. By sending a specially-crafted request, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.
