Description: RPM Package Manager could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by the failure to properly validate temporary files during package installation. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system.

CVE-ID: CVE-2014-8118

Description: RPM is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by an integer overflow when parsing a specially-crafted CPIO header in the payload section of RPM file. By persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted RPM file, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to modify RPM files and execute arbitrary code on the system.
