Security Bulletin: Multiple vulnerabilities in IBM Java Runtime affect IBM Cloud Orchestrator and IBM Cloud Orchestrator Enterprise

Summary

There are multiple vulnerabilities in IBM® SDK Java™ Technology Edition that is used by IBM WebSphere Application Server shipped with IBM Cloud Orchestrator and IBM Cloud Orchestrator Enterprise. These issues were disclosed as part of the IBM Java SDK updates in July 2018.

IBM Cloud Orchestrator and IBM Cloud Orchestrator Enterprise have addressed the applicable CVEs.
These issues were also addressed by IBM WebSphere Application Server shipped with IBM Cloud Orchestrator and IBM Cloud Orchestrator Enterprise.

CVEID: CVE-2017-3736 DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL could allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information, caused by a carry propagation flaw in the x86_64 Montgomery squaring function bn_sqrx8x_internal(). To remediate, do the following steps:

1. Upgrade to minimal fix pack level.

2. Download IBM Java 7.1.4.30.

3. Install the Java fixpack on any WebSphere Application Server fixpack level as long as the minimum prerequisites are met.
